Last week we announced our new Strategic direction and the four priorities that will guide our work for the next three years. As we celebrate Pride Month in June here at Center on Halsted and throughout Chicago, we will be introducing you to our direction and the bold plans that will get us there.
DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
Center on Halsted will demonstrate a culture of diversity and inclusion through staff, board, programs and community engagement.
Committing to diversity & inclusion goes beyond ensuring these values in the programs and services we provide, but requires community buy in and engagement. For these reasons, our commitment to diversity and inclusion begins internally as it relates to organizational policies regarding both staff and board, continuing as a through line in our offerings and a emanating outward to our community engagement.
Over the next three years, we aim to be a recognized employer of choice in the LGBTQ non-profit sphere nationally. On our board, we will enhance the engagement model for the Board of Directors resulting in increased Board service participation and satisfaction, ensuring our Board fully reflects the diversity of the LGBTQ community. In the community, we will demonstrate full commitment to its values of diversity and inclusive through extensive community engagement and expansion in partnering and presence outside of Lakeview.
As we implement the priorities throughout our work, we invite you to join us!
