Chicago’s LGBTQ community is strong. Our history of courage and compassion for each other during the AIDS epidemic is being recognized and duplicated across the globe. Many of you, with that same conviction, dedication, and vision, built Center on Halsted and advocated for Marriage Equality.
We thank those who have reached out with your continued support and reassurance. Center on Halsted is delivering on its promise to the health and wellbeing of Chicago’s LGBTQ community through the pandemic, and we’re asking for your strength once again.
We need your support now to continue to meet the growing needs of our community.

In this current social climate, coupled with financial and economic crisis, we are facing financial hardships at $10,000 per day, which will total more than $1 million by the end of our fiscal year on June 30, 2020.
SENIORS
Delivery of meals and offering curbside pickup while increasing wellness checks via phone.
Annual Impact: 500 Seniors per month receive these services.

YOUTH
Evening meal pick up, assessing mental and physical wellness, and additional referral services.
Annual Impact: 733 Youth receive guidance and support.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH and ANTI-VIOLENCE
Phone counseling sessions and increasing wellness checks, crisis services and safety planning for survivors of domestic violence and community-based violence.
Annual Impact: 421 clients receive individual, relationship and group counseling services.

HIV SERVICES and TESTING
Staff are answering the Illinois AIDS/HIV and STD Hotline, offering other referral information, including Coronavirus, and HIV testing by appointment.
Annual Impact: 4,058 free HIV/HCV tests + 8,263 inquiries through the hotline in English and Spanish.

SILVER FORK
Silver Fork staff are making meals for
Youth program participants.
Annual Impact: 52 graduates who are employed and contributing to their families.
